No matter how much pro-choice and pro-life advocates disagree, I think we can all agree that dads can and should do better than the dad who threw his daughter off a cliff (the last in a long line of abuses and neglect, the first of which was to ask to have her killed through abortion). We can agree that once kids come into existence, they matter. We should give them the best care. Dads and moms should sacrifice for them. What we don’t agree on is when exactly they come into existence. But before we argue about that, let’s take time to note that we have a great deal of agreement. Moments of common ground pay great dividends of goodwill (both directions) later in a conversation.
