RU-486 is now administered via teleconference. Isn’t this the logical and inevitable outcome of the belief that there’s nothing added to a conversation by being in the same room with a person? It takes something like abortion counseling and administration to shake us from our unquestioned reliance on technology to do the hard work of community and communication for us. This is not a step forward for women or for human beings in general (and that’s an understatement). It’s sad on two levels: the doctors are counseling women long distance…and they’re counseling them to kill their kids.
Question: Is there any doubt that we are now a full-blown technopoly?
